A uniting brand identity for the hub of CleanTech innovation in London

 

CleanTech London aims to bring together the capital’s cleantech ecosystem organisations, understand their needs and support growth.

The Mayor of London, TFL and Imperial College came to us with a mission to help London become the world-leading CleanTech innovation hotspot, creating inclusive jobs and sustainable businesses. 

We used our experience in sustainable, technical and commercial innovation to deliver a brand and launch site vision that reflected CleanTech London as the nexus for the latest generation of start-ups, visionaries, corporate leaders and academics to collaborate on sustainable solutions.

While extremely simple, this brand draws on several narrative links that compliment CleanTech London. It emphasises the CleanTech principles of collaboration and connectivity, while also highlighting planet Earth, and the importance of collective action to protect our planet. 

The circle signifies London - ringed by the green belt - and also gives a subtle nod to the London Underground, one of the world’s oldest and most famous subway systems and arguably London's largest landmark.

The circle provides a lens for particular areas of selected media, creating emphasis and focus. The sans-serif sentence case typeface is friendly and open, while remaining refined and sophisticated.
