HydroSurv design, build and operate innovative Unmanned Surface Vessels (USVs) for surveying coasts, rivers and waterways.
Climate change has a devastating impact on our waterways and underwater habitats; understanding and monitoring these ecosystems is vital in order to protect them. These surveys can be conducted by manned vessels, but this is expensive, polluting and potentially hazardous. HydroSurv develops and operates zero emission USVs that improve our understanding of underwater ecosystems through mapping topology and water movement.
HydroSurv asked us to create a new brand identity to launch the business.
Inspired by the unique topology captured by USV, we created an identity that paired the hardware ingenuity and the data it generates.
Inspired by maritime heritage and ocean colour tones, we generated a colour palette to embody the key brand themes of safety, reliability and cutting edge technology. A bright colour palette is also essential on the water to safely identify and reclaim the vessels.
We decided to incorporate technical vessel schematics into the brand iconography and assets, deploying them across print and digital media.
