Navigating the uncharted landscape of drug discovery

Ignota Labs is transforming the drug discovery landscape with its state-of-the-art toxicity screening technology. Cutting costs, time, and unnecessary materials, their tools enable scientists to bring safer drugs to patients, sooner.

As an early-stage company, Ignota Labs were looking for a rebrand that would help them reach out to investors and collaborators and build their network. With the drug discovery industry needing utter confidence and professionalism, it was imperative that the new brand strike a balance between assurance of accuracy, without downplaying the excitement of new possibilities.

Capturing fluidity and progression with a topography-inspired logo

The logo was inspired by a toxicity topography graph, which demonstrates their goal to find drugs that are low in toxicity, and high in efficacy. The fluidity and movement of the lines brings a sense of progression, whilst contained within a smooth circle keeps a professional and modern feel.

The colour theme is based around various shades of blue, with a bright pop of lime green. The blues create a consistent and recognisable feel, with the touch of green tying in that excitement of new possibilities and modernity.

For the typography, it was again important that we evoked a sense of professionalism within the chemistry world, whilst still being accessible and not intimidating. The rectangular letterforms of Archivo feel both modern and tech-inspired, whilst the letters’ clean structure provides an element of visual precision that ties in nicely with their mission. Using Rubrik as a secondary typeface heightens the accessibility levels, creating a sense of openness and approachability.

Dynamic patterns that bring the business to life

The main graphic assets follow the inspiration for the logo, and are a set of graphical, fluid lines. As well as representing the topography graph, they also offer a nice visualisation of their mission of traversing the drug discovery landscape.

The contrast between precise lines and irregular curves are again a nice juxtaposition and demonstration of Ignota Labs position in the chemistry world; a company based on long-standing scientific excellence, but with new ideas and a passion for progression.
