Carbon-conscious web design

1.0 billion tonnes of GHG emissions are produced each year by the internet, according to Boston Consulting Group.

We’re constantly trying to reduce the carbon intensity of everything we do, for ourselves and our clients. That’s why we’ve been working to reduce the CO2 generated by our online portfolio pages by up to 95%.

Our site now has a Website Carbon tracker on each page to make sure the consumption is transparent  – we’ll keep working to reduce our digital impact further. The biggest impact was made by removing video completely, or converting shorter segments to GIFs.

Thanks to Ruth Smith at the Sustainable Results Lab for inspiring us to kick off this journey and Low Tech Magazine for their awesome work in this area.
